I am VERY excited to announce that the River Teign Singers will be playing host to a workshop run by the fabulous HEARTWOOD TRIO all the way from the USA.
A unique opportunity absolutely not to miss!
Immerse yourself in an experience of embodied, joyful, and connected singing with original, harmony-rich, accessible songs that grow out of time spent in wild places, speaking to the wild without and within. All songs will be taught in the oral tradition, no need to read sheet music to participate. All voices are welcome and needed!
Heartwood is a vocal band of 3 lovely and incredibly talented singers and songwriters whose music is totally in line with natural voice practice and made of beautiful, beautiful harmonies.

We are extremely lucky to be welcoming Heidi, Willy and Sarina as guest teachers for a 2-hour workshop where they will share some of their songs and vocal techniques.
You are warmly invited to join us there for 2 hours of musical magic! The workshop is open to all abilities (or none), simply come if you feel like you would enjoy it.
It would be super helpful if you could buy your tickets in advance – like, now! – using the link below, so that we know for sure we’ve got enough participants to make it worth the trip for them. Also space in the hall is limited so make sure you get your ticket early so as not to be turned away! Tickets will only be available on the door if there’s any room left to fill. Children welcome.
About Heartwood
Heartwood is a trio of singers and instrumentalists creating new music born from time in wild places. With rich vocal harmonies and inviting lyrics, these singers and instrumentalists create music in collaboration with the natural world and weave songs that welcome people to join in the singing. Heidi Wilson, Sarina Partridge, and Willy Clemetson first came together as a trio in 2021 during a songwriting intensive on a small island in Lake Superior. Since then, they have been welcomed as artists-in-residence at numerous arts centers and wilderness areas; toured in the USA performing and teaching workshops; written an original musical together, ‘The Well Tree,’ and recorded an album of songs from wild places. This will be their first tour of the UK as a band, and they are excited to connect with singing communities across the pond!

Directions: at the top of the village, take the little lane between hedges just at the top of the car parking space, there is a wooden signpost. The hall is at the bottom of the lane on the right.
Or you can park near the church and take the footpath behind the church winding up to the left, then uphill a bit and the hall is past the houses on your left – bring a torch!
If lost, ask in the pub 😊 – a very friendly place and an excellent choice to finish the evening too!
