Choir Profile: Acapella London Tubthumpers

Hamilton House – The NUT BUILDING near ST Pancras Station

Tuesday 6.40 – 8.10pm

Group type: Performing occasionally

Further information:

The choir explores harmony acapella arrangements of an array of songs that might shelter under the umbrella of ‘folk’. Mostly 4 part acapella… sometimes an accordion player  or guitarist passes by. We will be singing anything passionate, irreverent, earthy and yet utterly meaningful to people who love life and singing.

This course will run for 10 weeks. All songs are  learned by ear, and downloads of songs will be available half way through the course. Mostly singers of harmony experience -limited to 40 singers  -so there is a little waiting list. . We will be singing a selection of songs with deep variety, from Johnny Cash, The Diggers’ Song to Nellie the Elephant.

We are working towards a performance at the Conway Hall on 28th March 2017 and a Wild Men Friday Spectacular at the Wellcome Foundation on 3rd February, with a rehearsal on 28th Jan 2017.
