Two singing groups predominantly for people with breathing difficulties, one in Hedge End and one in Bitterne. All welcome.
This group uses song to improve the health of the lungs, focusing on posture , breath control and relaxation.
Both groups learn the same songs, then join together for performances. Both groups are very friendly and lively.
See a short clip about the choir featuring two members here.
No previous experience is necessary, as all songs taught by ear.
A comment from a member in June 2017:
“One of the reasons I came to ‘breathe into song’ was to ‘find my voice’. I was told at school that I couldn’t sing but also my experience at home when small was that I felt that I wasn’t heard, I think I held a belief that I didn’t have a voice in both speaking and singing. At the weekend I had an experience where I spoke out in a situation where in past I would have kept quiet and I felt ‘where did that come from?’ I really feel that what we do at ‘breathe into song’ has played an important part in that process and me finding my voice.”
