Further information:

The D’Vine Singers started out in October 2014 as part of a research project into singing and mental wellbeing run by the Sidney de Haan Research Centre at Canterbury Christ Church University.  We took our name from the Vine Baptist Church in Sevenoaks, where we meet weekly on Friday lunchtimes.  When the research study closed, having demonstrated the power of singing in contributing to mental wellbeing , we continued independently as an open access group, while maintaining close links with West Kent Mind.  Although we mainly meet to enjoy singing in a supportive group, we occasionally perform at local community events and hold an annual concert to raise funds.  We’re keen to reach out to people who have been feeling anxious or isolated during the pandemic and looking for a way to enjoy a community activity or express themselves in song.

The D’Vine Singers will be back at the Vine Baptist Church from Friday 10th September.  We’ll be making every effort to create a Covid-safe space to sing, with good ventilation, social distancing and singing masks available on request.  Initially we’re asking people to arrive from 12.15 pm to start singing at 12.30 while we adjust to meeting in groups again.  All are welcome but we’re keeping an eye on numbers so please email Jacky if you’re thinking of coming along.
