Further information:

‘Quarternotes’ (formed in January 2016) are so-called because we rehearse in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, singing a variety of secular songs from around the world to celebrate the joy of singing.

We perform 3 or 4 times a year, often for charity events, and regularly take part in ‘Singing in the City’ at the beautiful Whitworth Art Gallery. In 2019 we sang in the Manchester Street Choirs Festival, and many of us travel to London every September to join with hundreds of other singers at ‘Sing for Water’ to raise funds for Water Aid (see photo).

There is no pressure to perform, but most of our singers love it, and we’ve even been known to busk in the Northern Quarter if the weather’s kind on rehearsal night!

All ages & voices welcome whether experienced or never sung before!
