Further information:

Following the resounding success of previous years, St. Dogmael’s Singing Village is again hosting a Men’s Georgian Singing Workshop, led by Stuart Jones.

Stuart spent time in Georgia, training with members of the Zedashe Ensemble, and has been teaching polyphonic Georgian folk songs to community choirs in Wales for the last 10 years.

The songs embrace all of life’s great events and passions, capturing experiences of love, work, worship, healing, celebration … and horse riding! Their unique harmonies evoke heartfelt sorrow, tenderness, spirituality and exuberance.

This one-day workshop is an opportunity for men to get together and create the rich and distinctive male-voice sound that is traditional to the singing of these songs. No experience of Georgia or singing is necessary. Just bring your voices, innate bonding tendencies and can-do enthusiasm. Beards optional!
