Most countries have a national anthem, a rousing song that somehow captures the essence of the country. However, many are rooted in jingoism, nationalism, and warmongering. Luckily for us, several countries have chosen beautiful songs to celebrate joy, nature and life!

Come and learn the South African national anthem Nkosi sikelel’i Afrika; Corsica’s Dio vi salvi regina; Beethoven’s Ode to joy for the European Union; Flower of Scotland; plus anthems from other countries like the Czech Republic, Japan, Argentina and Puerto Rico. All in wonderful three- and four-part harmony. There will also be opportunities to explore the local area and relax on the Saturday afternoon.

Everything will be taught by ear (no need to read music!). No previous experience needed – just bring yourself and have a go. Whether you’ve only ever sung in the shower, or you’re already in a choir, there will be something here for everyone – all in a fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
