Blokefest 2019 – The amazing all-male singing weekend is heading north.

In June this year up to  150 men from across the UK will be heading for Ilkley Rugby Club to take part in the 8th annual ‘Blokefest’ singing festival.  This will be the first time this prestigious event is held in the north of England.

Inspired by the outrageous but wonderful singing of the ‘Spooky Men’s Chorale’,  Blokefest (for this year renamed ‘Blokefest Up North) is an opportunity for men of any, or even no, experience of singing to get together for a glorious  weekend  of harmony  and friendship.  The workshops will be led by inspiring leaders, four of them members of The Spooky Men’s Chorale, who will be touring the UK soon after the festival.

100+ men singing together makes the hairs on the neck stand up.  For those who have attended previous Blokefest events, the experience has been exhilarating.  Paul Avery from Sing Your Rocks, after his first visit was heard to say ‘It was one of the best experiences of my life“.

The singing will take place in a circus big top in the Rugby Club Grounds and on the Sunday there will be a closing lunchtime concert in the tent for friends, families and locals.

The event will be hosted by Ilkley’s own male singing group ‘Sing Your Rocks Off’ and is open to all men, regardless of singing experience.

Accommodation is either camping, camper van, caravan or local B&B.

All meals are included in the price apart from breakfast, which is available but needs to be paid for separately.
