EDIT: This session will now take place online, via Zoom – see below.

Val Regan is an amazing singing leader, talented, warm and funny. She has worked in community music for over 25 years; she also runs Sheffield’s LGBTQ choir, Out Aloud. She is a songwriter, arranger and instrumentalist whose work includes music for BBC Radio Four – and a choral arrangement of O’Hooley and Tidow’s “Gentleman Jack” theme, which we’ll be singing tonight. Dressing up as Anne Lister is optional 😉

So come and sing for fun with Many Voices LGBTQI (and straight-friendly) singing evenings. There’s no need to read music, all songs are taught by ear. No auditions, no performances, no commitment required. We just sing for fun: spirited songs, silly ditties, rounds, and inspirational songs, nothing too complicated to learn and sing in an evening. We genuinely welcome lesbian, gay, bi, trans*, queer, questioning, intersex people and our allies.

If you would like to come and sing your heart out, but are feeling a bit nervous, get in touch beforehand and we’ll do what we can to help you over the [virtual] threshold 🙂 You’ll definitely feel better after a good sing!

The session will run via Zoom as a video meeting. You’ll need a computer, tablet or smartphone, a wifi connection, and place you can sing in! Download Zoom and set it up beforehand. Email us if you don’t know how to do this (

Join us from 7.15pm, then Val will lead the singing from 7.30-8.30pm. Note that singing via Zoom is quite a different experience, you won’t be able to hear everyone else singing at the same time because of how the technology works, so we’ll each get a version of the harmony singing experience! But it’s still good for us to sing with other people, in these dark times.
