Further information:

We are singing seasonal songs and folk carols for you to join in with – at the Festive Farfield event at Farfield Mill near Sedbergh. Songs can be learnt in advance via youtube and soundcloud recordings, or via Zoom tutorials in November. There will be some revision round the fire in the garden, singing at the mill (which is now an arts and heritage centre) and on a carolling walk along the banks of the river Clough, here in the Yorkshire Dales – singing at the doors of cottages cradled in the Dale.

Songs include seasonal songs like As Winter’s Night Draws Near, Sheffield pub carols, mediaeval carols, English and Scottish folk carols, and carols from Slovenia, Germany and France.

All singing will be outside in a Covid safe environment observing local and central Government rules and guidelines. The seasonal soup is as cheery as our singing – and is vegetarian.

“We gather round the fire with songs of festive cheer, we feel our love and friendships more as winter’s night draws near.”
