An afternoon of participatory singing and communal food to bring our community together in song.
It will soon be the anniversary of Jo Cox’s death and her partner, Brendan Cox, has asked folk across the UK to come together in community parties and celebrations. What better way to bring people together than through song and food?
From 2 til 4 we’ll sing together some simple harmony songs on the theme of unity and community and then from 4 we’ll have a tea party – please bring food to share.
The singing will be led by Jenny Goodman with support from members of her acapella performance group Far Cry – we’ll learn a range of harmony songs that everyone can join in … this is a chance to experience the power of singing to bring people and communities together – a chance to remind ourselves we are stronger and better together. Absolutely NO previous singing experience needed – all songs taught by ear.
Just come along – entry by donation – both the Quaker Meeting House and Jenny are donating their space and time for free in memory of Jo and all donations will go to the Jo Cox Memorial Foundation.
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE – THE MORE THE MERRIER
