A short break during Easter Week to combine singing in harmony with rest, nurturing and inspiration in the comfort of a characterful historic manor house in a peaceful rural setting.
Keely has been leading singing retreats at Parcevall Hall, Grade II listed manor house and retreat and conference centre for the Church of England Diocese of Leeds at the heart of Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, since 2011. No previous singing experience or ability to read music is required: a varied repertoire of songs and rounds are sensitively taught using call and response.
Guests arrive on Easter Tuesday and an evening meal is followed by introductions and a gentle sing. Wednesday morning is divided into two singing sessions with a coffee break. After lunch, guests are free to relax: maybe go for a gentle stroll around the gardens and woods (RHS garden); or perhaps take a more rigorous walk in the beautiful countryside. Afternoon tea is provided and followed by a singing session before the evening meal. A gentle night-sing is offered before guests retire to their rooms or socialise. There is a small bar for purchasing soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. Thursday morning’s sessions bring together the songs that have been learned and everything is rounded off with a hearty lunch and often more singing before departures! If weather permits, there will be opportunities to sing outdoors.
“Each retreat is unique. When I sing a song, maybe months later, it reminds me of those who were there and the laughter we shared. ” J. Davidson
