This is an opportunity to experience what it’s like to sing without knowing what’s coming, to side-step the usual constraints and bring out music you just didn’t know was there. Taking it slowly we will learn to come up with simple patterns and repeating phrases, to layer them and build simple harmonies, to give the whole thing a rhythm and a pulse, and together build a groove out of a few notes pulled from the air.
Two 2-hour workshops from 7-9pm on 8 and 15 April.
We start with gentle warm-ups for the voice and body, transitioning into sound and movement and taking time to land and tune in. As we play and feel the music emerging, there is also time to reflect, to witness and to absorb the process together.
Expect laughter, and that there are no mistakes – every offering can turn into a musical adventure. Beginning at the beginning, we aim to explore the micro-steps that take us towards unlocking creativity, and towards vocal freedom. For any journey there is always a beginning, come and join the adventure! There is a way of being that accommodates the mistakes and the mess. We come to accept – and learn to fly.
Who is this for?
