We celebrate the transition into a new year by singing and dancing. In a ritual round lasting several days, we will sing ‘Om mani padme hum’ for a whole night as a highlight.

In the communal round, we will slow down and focus entirely in sound on letting go of the old and receiving the new, on beauty, our powers of peace and our humanity.

The 5000-year-old Sanskrit mantra connects us with our compassion for all creatures and with the pulsation of the divine light in each individual. It is an expression of the process of creation, the weaving of male and female polarities and the passing away.

In this focus, we sing together to close the arc of the past year in peace and love and to open the new arc of the year with our focus on connection with all fellow creatures, joy and serenity. In doing so, we strengthen ourselves as well as the forces of peace in the world, because peace on the outside always grows from peace on the inside.
