Further information:

We have booked the Coniston Coppermines Youth hostel for the weekend and I will be leading several singing walks over the Lake District fells, with singing by waterfalls and lakes, in wild woods, and on mountain tops…and inside the magnificent Cathedral Cavern in Little Langdale. The hostel is half way to the summit of Coniston Old Man – so singing on the summit will be easy for everyone.
We can offer single bedrooms with private toilets (or share with singers from your household or bubble,) and all Covid-safe meals and accommodation. You can drive to the hostel which has parking spaces alongside it (unlike Black Sail YHA which we normally rent, where we have to walk 6 miles over the mountains.)
The hostel also has Wifi so we shall join the online Natural Voice Network Annual Gathering in between our singing walks outside.
Singers should have some experience of hillwalking, be reasonably fit, and have good walking boots and waterproofs.
I will teach some songs during our walks, and will be leading an online workshop from the hostel on leading Singing Walks and songs. There will be many opportunities for singers who come to share their songs, or to takes turns leading the singing walk.
Covid precautions, and following local and central government rules (walking groups are exempt from the rule of 6, but we still aim for safety reasons to be a small group.)
