Sing at the seaside– a weekend of singing with Janet Russell and Jenny Goodman in Whitby!
What could be better?! – a whole weekend of singing with two of the most experienced acapella workshop leaders in the UK – plus Whitby – seaside, winding streets, some of the best fish and chips in the country, pubs full of music… join us for a luscious weekend of song.
Janet has performed solo and with Sisters Unlimited for more than 30 years on the folk scene in the UK and abroad, and has worked with well known figures such as Leon Rosselson and Roy Bailey in the Anti-Capitalist Roadshow and Coope, Boyes and Simpson to create shows with choirs such as Hearts of Coal and The Christmas Truce.
Jenny, also an experienced performer, has instigated large and continuing very successful choir projects such as Voice House (Edinburgh) Songlines and Voice Cafe (Leamington Spa), Wildnotes (Huddersfield) and currently leads performance acapella group Far Cry. Jenny brings her own great compositions and vast community choir repertoire! Both bring a commitment and passion for political song – and both are warm, encouraging, supportive workshop leaders who are not averse to bursting into performance after the workshop day!!
£70 per person (a limited number of concessions available on request) – for an additional £6 we will provide you with a simple lunch each day – plus tea, coffee and biscuits obviously! MUST be booked and paid in advance – booking through Janet at firstname.lastname@example.org
