Further information:

Sing To Beat Parkinson’s are delighted to announce a London training date on June 10th 2018 at Morley College, London.

Since last year, new Parkinson’s groups have been formed and a national network of practitioners Sing To Beat Parkinson’s is in the process of being fully established.

The course offers a unique and specialist opportunity for musicians and emerging artists to gain invaluable experience and a toolkit to run a singing group for people with Parkinson’s and their carers.

The course will be led by Grenville Hancox (Honorary Professor in Music, Health and Well Being, University of Kent; Artistic Director, Canterbury Cantata Trust Founder and expert in singing and wellbeing) and Nicola Wydenbach (an experienced Parkinson’s and singing practitioner and founder of the Contented Music Club).

Participants will gain a greater awareness and understanding of Parkinson’s and singing. As well as gaining practical experience of working in this context, attendees will have the chance to work alongside people with Parkinson’s and their carers. There will be practical workshops and demonstrations on how to lead warm-ups and songs and other activities that are tailored made for this client group as well as practical advice about how to set up and run a group once the course is finished.
