Further information:

Wassailing is an ancient West country tradition to welcome in a new apple growing year and encourage a good cider harvest.
We invite you to sing and celebrate traditional folk wassail songs. Coming together at the coldest time of the year to learn traditional and contemporary arrangements of Wassail songs in gorgeous, warming harmony.
Songs will be taught by two local experienced choir leaders: Polly Wilde who has run The Island Folk Choir for the last 10 years and Renee Berhout who runs popular community choir the Orchard. All songs will be taught by ear and the workshop is suitable for singers of all levels.
At the workshop we will share in traditional Wassail food and drink and be immersed in the history and culture of Wassailing.
The workshop will be held at the beautiful barn at Boiling Wells, warmed by a wood burning stove and lit with solar fairy lights. It’s going to be a nourishing way to end the darkest month of the year!
There will be an opportunity to perform the songs at Feed Bristol’s Wassail in early February for those who would like to.
