Further information:

The ancient Greeks called Corsica “Kalliste” – the most beautiful – and if you visit you will see why. Crystal clear seas, dramatic mountains, cool forests of chestnuts and deep rivers. All this and the added magic of a residential singing workshop with Jenny Goodman in the charming setting of the Maison Hyacinthe – set amongst olive groves above Miomo, a small coastal village.

The two-day workshop is for people from the UK and elsewhere and local Corsicans – to come together to sing. On day 1 you will learn a range of harmony songs from different folk/world/popular traditions. Day 2 will also include learning songs plus voice technique and improvisation. There will be an informal sharing/performance opportunity with singers from local Corsican groups.

Maison Hyacinthe is an old convent which was recently restored and is now run by a small group of Polish nuns. It welcomes groups wanting to organise events away from the pressures and demands of life. It is situated amongst 100 year old olive trees and palm trees on terraced lawns. It offers modest, clean rooms with modern en suite facilities. The food is simple and wholesome with vegetarian food available. Towels and linen provided.
