During our long weekend together, we’ll explore how harmony singing and vocal play can support us to come into deeper relationship with ourselves, one another and the land. We’ll also explore how singing with an awareness of ourselves as active participants in our environment can support us to develop a greater awareness of the vibrant aliveness of all things.
Our residential retreat will take place at a beautiful converted barn near Widecombe in the Moor, Dartmoor. Accommodation is comfy bunk beds, and there are hot showers and cosy communal spaces for eating together and relaxing. Singing sessions will take place in a large indoor workshop space, and outside whenever possible.
We’ll sing a variety of songs in 3- and 4-part harmony. Some will be arrangements of folk songs from the British Isles and elsewhere, others will be sacred chants, songs of reverence and celebration. Songs will be taught by ear, so you don’t need to be able to read music. For longer songs, lyric sheets will be provided. All experience levels are warmly welcomed!
You’re invited to choose how much you pay based on what you can comfortably afford. You might think of this as ‘low income / standard / generosity’, but it’s really just what you feel comfortable paying. The options are: £140 / £160 / £180, including three nights’ accommodation, all meals and teaching sessions.
