The Song of Now – vocal improvisation retreat

11 Oct 2024—13 Oct 2024

Residential

Wild Ways, Highley, Shropshire

How does it feel to sing the song of now?

We’ll explore many ways of singing together as a group to trust our intuition and find our song of now.

The land will hold us as we dare to be vulnerable and step into the space and stillness where song comes from. We’ll explore how our impulses and voice change in nature, our ancestral voice and our own authentic sound.

Ruana will guide us through many forms such as Collaborative Vocal Improvisation, circle singing, exploring sound healing through our voices and how to sing from grounded SELF energy.

You will come away from this retreat with more confidence to freely sing the song of now wherever you are, find new ways into vocal expression and allow your creativity to overflow with possibilities.

The day will start with a beautiful sound bath to wake you up gently then morning and afternoon sessions singing in our cosy workshop space, the house of the ancestors, the stone circle or exploring your own path in the natural woodland at Wild Ways. There will be some free time which you might want to use for a dip in the river. A cacoa ceremony will take place on one day and the evenings will be a mixture of songs around the fire and optional saunas.

All singing abilities welcome from beginner to professional.

Ruana has had a lifelong passion to sing and a love of land, spirit and heart based song. She has been a performer, choir leader and has led singing groups since the age of 14. She creates a safe, caring and gentle space which allows you to feel confident to sing and express yourself fully.
