Further information:

During the weekend the Hussies will teach you some of our original songs and arrangements and other beautiful acapella songs from the folk/roots /world music traditions. All songs will be taught by ear so no previous experience is needed. Each session will include a gentle warm up to get your body, breath and voice ready to sing. As well as simply singing for the love of it, there will be the opportunity to have a go at improvising, to sing in a small group or to have a one to one tutorial with Jenny Hussie or Sarah Hussie to work in more depth on your own voice or performance skills.

The weekend includes a performance by The Blameless Hussies featuring our trademark witty and serious songs from a woman’s perspective on life, love, the injustices of the world and the fight for freedom. All this and bustles too (and the opportunity for you to dress up and release your inner Hussie!)

Holland House is a a beautiful retreat centre serving delicious home cooked food, including home grown and locally sourced produce. The accommodation is largely single rooms with a few double rooms. For local people or those who would prefer to organise their own accommodation, we offer a ‘non-residential’ ticket. Day tickets are also available, which include refreshments.

The Hussies combine over 50 years of leading workshops, choirs and singing projects. We are committed to the philosophy that everyone can sing and that singing together is a fundamental form of human expression. In addition to our teaching we are both song-writers, composers and performers.
