Wild Sing in the early evening during the Bluebell Festival at Enys Gardens. Enys Gardens is a private garden in Cornwall, UK, known for its spectacular display of bluebells in May. Join Janice M to sing among the inspiring and ever-changing acoustics of nature in the stunning wilderness of Enys Gardens and enjoy the special bluebell season.
During this unique and immersive experience you will quickly learn simple melodies and harmonies of beautiful songs in a friendly, group atmosphere. Guided by singer and vocal coach, Janice M, participants will sing a cappella among the sounds of nature, and views of bluebells, creating a memorable and shared experience.
The Wild Singing Workshop will include fun, engaging warm-ups through to good vocal techniques, which you can apply long after the event. It is an experience for singers of all abilities, including complete beginners, and will be taught by ear with no experience of reading music necessary. Your lyrics for the songs will be provided on beautiful bespoke designed postcards for you to keep. Wild Singing is about harmonising with the great outdoors and feeling good.
Born in Cumbria and residing in Cornwall for the last ten years, Janice M has performed for private and public events and in venues all over the Southwest. From jazz to soul, folk and gospel, she fuses a range of genres in her own inimitable vocal style.
Alongside singing in Cornwall-based band The Grace Notes, Janice M is a vocal coach and works regularly with various community groups. Returning for a fourth time to run Wild Singing Workshops at Enys Gardens, Janice M has also taken her wild singing to Trebah Garden, Potager Garden and is also a regular with her popular Wild Singing Workshops at Port Eliot Festival.

TICKETS INCLUDE ENTRANCE FEE to Enys Gardens and the Bluebell Festival on Friday 10 May 2019. Participants are welcome to arrive early to enjoy the bluebells and gardens as the official garden opening times are 11am-5pm, workshop starts at 6pm.
The workshop will take place outside within the grounds of Enys Gardens and will involve walking through the gardens to the location. There are paths, but please be mindful as part of Enys Gardens’ beauty is its rustic, wild charm and so the ground underfoot can be uneven and rough in areas.
In the case of bad weather on the day, the workshop will be run onsite at Enys in an indoor/undercover space and so a wonderful rustic experience will still be had. Information on the exact location will be provided on entrance to Enys Gardens on the day of the workshop.
Facilities: Food, drinks and toilets available/accessible on site as part of the festival during usual opening hours. Toilets will be available on site during the workshop.
Recommended to bring: Participants are recommended to bring their own bottle of water to keep hydrated through the session, insect repellent in case needed and to wear suitable clothing for a Spring evening outdoors in gardens.
See more on what’s happening during the festival on the Enys Gardens facebook page. The Bluebell Festival at Enys Gardens is running 4-12 May 2019.
