The nights are drawing in and soon the clocks will change – the scent of autumn is in the air. Winter is a time of dark nights and cold days when all you want to do is snuggle by the fire but traditionally it is also a time to come together to feast and celebrate through food, song and dancing – binding our communities together and keeping spirits strong. So why not give YOURSELF a treat by coming a sharing song with others. Learn a range of wintery songs from folk carols to contemporary original arrangements to motown on the theme of winter.
All songs taught by ear so no previous experience needed. No solo singing (except by choice!) and no auditions – this is about the power and joy of singing together.
The culmination of the sessions will be the opportunity to sing as part of a WinterSongs fundraising event for local arts and older people’s organisation Sharing Memories on 9th Dec in Holmfirth. Jenny’s performance acapella group Far Cry will be there and her daytime singing group Harmony@Hope Bank and you will all join together to sing away the winter blues AND help a great organisation.
