Find a choir or singing group

On this page you can search for a choir or singing group by its name or by location.

If you are searching in the UK, click on “By location” and select “United Kingdom”, and you will then be able to narrow down your search by postcode. Alternatively you can zoom in on the map.

If you are searching for a member who is outside the UK, you will be able to search by country.

Then click on the button to initiate the search. You will then get an outline of the choirs and singing groups which match your search and you’ll be able to view full details. Please use these to contact any choirs that you’re interested in.

If you need to contact the NVN, rather than an individual choir, you can do so by emailing admin@naturalvoice.net

Stroud Folk Choir

Location

Trinity Rooms, Field Road, Stroud, GL52HZ

Description

Join Stroud Folk Choir as we sing rousing shanties, joyous celebration songs, haunting laments and catchy ditties. Traditional and contemporary folk songs from our own fair isles and from other cultures around the world, taught in 3 and 4 part harmony with many original arrangements

There’s a place for you in the choir, regardless of your singing ability. Whether you’re uncertain and need some support from your fellow singers as you learn the songs, or a confident singer who’d like the opportunity to perform a short solo you are welcome here. There are no auditions as we believe singing is for everyone.

We try to get out into the community to perform occasionally, which we really enjoy, but the emphasis is on us having fun together first and foremost and nobody is expected to perform if they don’t want to.

We’ll be running on an open basis over the summer, so if you’d like to come along for a sing then please do join us. We’ll be closing in again in September as a members only choir so if you’d like to join us then please join our waiting list here: https://forms.gle/xyD9Cz11D6zysweC8

We do have some spaces for our mid-low range, which would be for male voices that are a bit higher than bass (not quite tenor), female voices that are in the lower range (low Altos) or non binary people with these qualities of voice (I apologise for not having the right terminology to give this voice type it’s own description without relating it to a male or female voice). If we can boost this section a little then we’d have capacity to allow a few extra people of other voice types too.

Session times

Monday evenings 7-9pm
