Sacred singing workshops, with songs from the Taize community in France, as well as the Iona Community. This is an acapella group, and all are welcome. Songs are taught by ear, the parts are built up one by one, and then we sing into silence.

2nd Saturday of each month, 2-5pm.

We learn and sing songs from Taize every week, usually in the Lady Chapel in the Cathedral but sometimes at St John’s Church (by the amphitheatre). See website for full location list.

We also hold Taize services periodically.

We sing the beautiful songs from the Taize community in 2, 3 and 4 part harmony, with no accompaniment. There are music books available but all songs are taught by ear so you don’t need to read music to participate.

A suggested donation of £10 to cover the leader’s costs is welcome but not obligatory. There is an honesty box out at each session. You are welcome to join us to sing regardless of ability to pay.

Singing for wellbeing on Wednesdays.

Session 1 – from 1.00 – 1.55pm for anyone who is interested in singing for wellbeing, whilst also learning new songs and harmonies.
Session 2 – from 2.10 – 3.00pm for the general public, including those from a care setting – as long as they are supported throughout by carers.

A fun and informal group meeting monthly to enjoy singing together.

All songs taught by ear and there’s no need to read music. New members always welcome and no experience is necessary.

We indulge in hot drinks, cake and chat during our breaks and feel this is a very important part of the session!
