Find a choir or singing group

On this page you can search for a choir or singing group by its name or by location.

If you are searching in the UK, click on “By location” and select “United Kingdom”, and you will then be able to narrow down your search by postcode. Alternatively you can zoom in on the map.

If you are searching for a member who is outside the UK, you will be able to search by country.

Then click on the button to initiate the search. You will then get an outline of the choirs and singing groups which match your search and you’ll be able to view full details. Please use these to contact any choirs that you’re interested in.

If you need to contact the NVN, rather than an individual choir, you can do so by emailing admin@naturalvoice.net

Forget-me-not Singing Club

Location

Brockenhurst Methodist Church Hall, Avenue Road, Brockenhurst SO42 7RT

Description

The Forget-me-not Singing Club is primarily aimed at people living with dementia and/or Parkinson’s disease and their friends, but anyone else who just fancies a good sing on a Friday afternoon would be very welcome to join us!

Songs are from a range of genres and eras – folk songs, pop songs, songs from films and even from Scouts/Guides and school days. We also follow the seasons and come up with some special songs to suit the time of year.

The singing is fun and friendly and there’s no need to worry if you think you are not much of a singer, or a bit rusty – all voices are welcome!

(I am also looking for people to help me during the sessions with things like handing out song sheets and making tea. If you would be willing to help, please let me know!)

Getting there: There are a few parking spaces in front and to both sides of the church, but you can also park for free on the road in front. The church hall is also just a few minutes walk from Brockenhurst railway station (via the gate at the back of the station carpark).

Cost: £3 per person, which includes free tea/coffee and biscuits.

Get in touch: I’m very happy to answer any questions you might have, and it would also be really helpful if you could let me know if you are planning to come along (so I can make sure I bring enough song-sheets, and most importantly, biscuits!) Thank you!

Session times

Fridays, 2-3.30pm.

Forres Big Choir

Location

High Street, Forres, IV36 1PP

Description

A friendly mixed community choir, established in 2004. We sing inspirational songs from around the world. All songs are taught by ear, no sheet music, no auditions and no previous experience is needed.
We only perform occasionally preferring the enjoyment of coming together each week to sing with and to each other without the pressure of a forthcoming concert. When we do share some of our songs in public, most often at the Universal Hall, we have a ball.

Session times

Thursdays during term time 7.30-9.30pm

Free Range

Location

188 Woodhouse Lane, Leeds LS2 9DX

Description

Free Range has carved out its own special place in the Leeds choir scene over the last 15 years.

We are a friendly group, currently about 20, mixed genders and ages. We welcome and value diversity. We have some members who read music and others who don’t. We don’t audition and like performing.

Our musical tastes are eclectic including popular, gospel/blues, choral, and songs from other countries. But what marks us out are Frances’ original and thought-provoking compositions and arrangements.

In the past we have enjoyed creating our own productions with song and narrative: Sing Freedom (apartheid South Africa), Courage & Conscience ( WW1 Conscientious Objectors), and Cruel Britannia (whose history do we value?)

Things our members say about us: ‘committed and supportive group’ ‘good rapport, friendly people, cohesive’ ‘right level of challenge’ ‘interesting and diverse performance opportunities’ ‘ambitious about singing and performing well’
