Newport Mind Choir has been running for many years as a relatively small but very creative and welcoming group of people. We often have many more men than women with us.
The choir members have written many songs together and some have even created their own complete songs.
The choir is all about wellbeing and we are a very accepting bunch of people – with no judgement.

Wednesdays 10am - 12pm

Night Chorus (Sheffield) is a fun, friendly, informal community choir. We meet upstairs at The Boston Arms in Woodseats to sing pop, jazz and folk songs in 3 or 4 part harmony.

Everything is taught by ear and sung acapella – no previous singing experience is needed. The focus of the choir is enjoyment and singing for wellbeing, but we usually do one very informal ‘gig’ per term.

Sessions cost £5 per session and are payable in half-termly blocks.

Thursday evenings in term term from 8.30 to 9.15pm

We are a fabulous group of ladies, many of whom have been singing together, a cappella, for 10 years in this community choir.  Gentlemen:  You are most welcome to join!   Don’t be shy!  In fact, the ladies would love to add some bass harmony to their songs.  No auditions or music reading required, although scores and sound files are given for ease of learning (at the request of members).  New singers are invited to drop in for a couple of sessions to try us out – just send a wee email in advance to let me know you’re coming.  We occasionally perform at community events and join forces with other local groups for larger events.

This lovely group get together on Wednesday mornings in Willersey, near Broadway. Formerly a U3A choir, the NC Singers is now open to all. Historically, this group have always worked from sheet music but we do have non-music readers too; all levels of experience welcome, and we will cater for whichever way you prefer to learn. The repertoire is a beautiful mix of more traditionally ‘choral’ pieces plus a gradually broadening repertoire of song. We currently have a good balance of c 30 mixed voices.
