Groups that sing very simple and harmonious sacred songs.
Groups that sing very simple and harmonious sacred songs.
I have been running a group called Sacrae since 2017. We sing simple short sacred songs with beautiful harmonies, such as songs from Taize, Harmonic Temple (Nickomo) and the Findhorn songbook “Heaven and Earth”.
Sacrae is a small friendly drop-in group, which has been running for about 5 years, led by Helen East and Anna McIvor. It’s an opportunity for stillness and song, a time to recharge and connect.
We sing sacred harmony songs as a form of meditation and contemplation; songs are chosen for their beauty, simplicity and intention. It is an opportunity for stillness as well as harmony, and a space to connect with the sacred, whatever that may mean to you. The songs may be be inspired by different spiritual traditions or practices, including Taize, Harmonic Temple and Sufism. There is time for tea & chat afterwards.
Everything is taught by ear, and beginner and experienced singers all welcome. If you’d like to join, please check our Facebook page for upcoming dates, or get in touch and we can add you to our mailing list and/or WhatsApp group.
We may be meeting at Romsey Mill or the Flamsteed Road scout hut, usually from 2pm – 3.30pm. All sessions £12/£10/£7.
Usually Sunday afternoons once or twice a month, 2.00 - 3.30pm
