Anke was born in the rural area near Berlin and decided to create her life in this region where most of her ancestors lived and where her roots are. She studied elementary music education, composition and singing. Since then, she has been singing and making music on a freelance basis with children, families, people with disabilities and adults in every conceivable context, composing mantras and choir songs and reworking and rewriting many chants. Meanwhile, her own children were born and grew up singing and playing in Anke’s children’s singing circles, camps and events.
She completed various trainings and further education courses, including in the areas of singing as a social strategy, vocal improvisation, psycho-resonance training with the voice and TaKeTiNa.
For at least twenty years she worked for the network ‘Il canto del mondo e.V.’, where she was the project manager of the musical social project ‘Canto elementar’, an intergenerational singing program for the oldest and the youngest , singing together in kindergartens, for several years. During this time the project was awarded the German National Prize.
Anke has published several songbooks with ethnological, pedagogical and sometimes philosophical backgrounds for choirs, children’s groups and singing circles. Her albums give a lively impression of her work.
Her current main project, the Come & Sing App, is a continuously growing audio-virtual songbook for all your mobiles with polyphonic songs from all over the world that can carry us and our children into a peaceful, joyful future in which we care for the well-being of all creation. This app enfolds it’s full potential in collaboration with colleagues from many countries.
The Burgchor has been around since 2005. We are a colourful group of people from Bad Belzig and the surrounding villages, long-time residents and newcomers from the countryside, the city and the communities, craftspeople, creatives, alternatives, normals – we are as diverse as it gets and that’s what makes us special.
Our choir loves songs and chants from all over the world. But we also love our traditional and new songs. Anyone who wants to can join in.
We look forward to our Wednesday evenings and sing on the occasions that arise in our lives – for joint celebrations, birthdays, baptisms or for consolation.
There are always special moments when we visit each other to rehearse, especially during Advent, the holidays or at Easter, Walpurgis or solstices…
Wednesdays (except holidays), 7.45 - 9.15 pm
The Community Choir Potsdam-West is the sound of our life together in the neighbourhood and our region. We sing songs and chants from many cultures of the world and in many languages that touch us, bring us joy, accompany our everyday life and pave our way through the challenges and tasks of our time. Anyone who enjoys singing in community is very welcome.
Thursday evening, 7.45 to 9.15 pm
