Experienced community choir leader
I started a community choir in 2005 in my living room and it has grown into a welcoming community of singers. I teach a range of styles of music by ear often supported with music on a page. We enjoy singing at local events, in nearby care homes and for charities we support. We’ve just sung out supporting a community garden and cafe/shop in Little Plumstead which was very great fun. We get involved in opportunities and workshops that will stretch us and link up with other singers and artists. In the summer of 2022 we performed with other choirs and musicians at the Norfolk Show and we participated in the Kusiyana concert in Norwich in November to raise funds to help alleviate period poverty.
We are a welcoming community choir open to new people. We sing a variety of songs in harmony – gospel, traditional, a little pop, songs in languages other than English and beautiful modern pieces, all taught by ear and often accompanied by notes and recordings. There are recordings, photos and more information on the choir website. We enjoy singing for others from time to time.
