Coming across new people to sing with is a wonderful thing!  Huge thanks goes to Frankie Armstrong and the Natural Voice Network for setting me off on my voice journey 15 years ago.  The last decade has been an adventure in Collaborative Vocal Improvisation, and the hugely talented team who produce the UK Vocal Improv Festival (they can all be found on The Well Vocal website) and who generate such amazing warmth and connectivity, continue to inspire and support me.

Improvisation is a wonderful thing – it builds the muscles of the imagination and makes the world bigger.  We play with non-verbal communication, side-stepping familiar constraints and behaviours by following simple forms of engagement to create music together, and it’s different every time. We learn to listen deeply, and to actually feel what wants to come out in that moment.  As we support each other sound takes shape and form, and we can begin to fly.

Whether I’m collaborating, leading or just singing to myself it’s for life.  This is the community where I am most at home.
