Additional information

I am a singer, song maker, performer, body work therapist, and environmental campaigner. I am proud to be one of the founding members of the NVN, having begun an apprenticeship with Frankie Armstrong back in the 1990s whilst studying Community Music. I spent over a decade  setting up and running  community choirs alongside funded song and music work in Health and Educational settings, mainly working with minority groups and in mental health settings.

I then worked full time for Sing Up as an Area Leader for two counties, developing and delivering inclusive song-based trainings for teachers in primary schools.  After that  I co-founded a creative music and song-based charity based in Gloucester called The Music Works, developing and delivering inclusive funded work for  young people in challenging circumstances , and managing the vocal strategy for the county and the music education hub.

After that I returned to working with a more environmental focus. I worked for Tree Sisters from 2017- 2020 designing and running an International Programme called Sing With The Trees

In 2018 I founded Sing For Earth Day in response to the Ecological Crisis and inspired by this international way of connecting with others around the world.

This annual event and process runs through a Community Interest Company I co-founded in 2016 for our work with intergenerational nature-based work. Sing For Earth Day offers opportunities for people to engage with hosting events in their local area, with resources and online guidance in regenerative group song with embodiment, nature based practices and movement, aiming to support both the well being of people and our planet.

Currently SFED work in partnership with The Global Diversity Foundation as inclusion continues to be a priority for us, especially with an environmental focus knowing that the Global South/ Majority are disproportionately effected by the climate crisis and deeply chimes with our NVM anti-racism and cultural honouring work.

My work nowadays is integrating my experiences and learnings over the last 30 years into a body of work called Resonance; a trauma-informed approach in engaging people with sound, song, embodiment, mindful movement, nature connection and creative writing to enhance well being.

I currently offer trainings and work within organisations as a creative coach and facilitator.  I offer one-to-one mentoring for new NVN leaders.
