Natural Voice Practitioner since Oct 2002. Singing for Lung Health leader since 2016. Retired 2023.
I’m experienced in leading a variety of short and long term voice projects, but now retired and enjoying occasional singing as a participant rather than a leader. In the past I’ve enjoyed teaching both groups and one-to-one, working with a variety of people including homeless people, adults with learning disabilities, academics, and Westcott House Ordinands. In 2016 I trained with the British Lung Foundation to be a singing for lung health leader and started the Cambridge Singing for Breathing Group, under the umbrella of community music charity Talking in Tune. In September 2022 I handed the Cambridge ‘Singing for Breathing’ project leader role on to fellow NVN Practitioner Mary Denn. I have a personal interest in meditative songs and chants, and was involved in leading a Taizé service for my local Anglican church for 25 years, retiring in October 2022. I am an Associate Member of the Iona Community. I am a trained Labyrinth Facilitator and until May 2023 was UK Region Rep for international labyrinth organisation Veriditas. I am a professional home-boarder of dogs. In my spare time I enjoy playing with my grandchildren and walking my dog Dylan and any canine paying guests in the Cambridgeshire countryside.
