Skylark Singers is a free choir for anyone in North Ceredigion who suffers from shortness of breath. This may be due to a lung condition, such as COPD, bronchiectasis, chronic asthma, long Covid, or may be due to a cardiac condition, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, anxiety, post-Covid breathlessness, or any other reason.
The sessions begin with relaxation, stretches, body and voice warm-ups, some breathing exercises and some voice exercises. We then sing simple songs, some with piano accompaniment, others acapella with harmony parts. The sessions end with a cup of tea and a chance to chat.
Wednesdays 2-3pm
Sacred singing workshops, with songs from the Taize community in France, as well as the Iona Community. This is an acapella group, and all are welcome. Songs are taught by ear, the parts are built up one by one, and then we sing into silence.
2nd Saturday of each month, 2-5pm.
