I run adult community choirs with mixed voices, singing unaccompanied in 2–4-part harmony.
I run three community choirs, 2 daytime and 1 evening, I also cover for other leaders in the area when needed.
All three choirs have become a welcoming, supportive and friendly family of singers who love to sing, work hard to make the best sound they can and most importantly have lots of fun along the way.
The Spotlight Singers Community Choir is in Andover and they meet during term time on Monday afternoons.
The Woolmer Forest Community Choir meets during term time in Bordon, Hants on Thursday afternoons.
Petersfield Community Choir meets on a Wednesday evening in Petersfield during term time.
We sing a wide variety of songs, including folk, spiritual, gospel and even the odd contemporary piece, all unaccompanied and taught by ear.
The main ethos of my choirs is singing for fun and enjoying the beautiful harmonies that can be produced.
The Spotlight Singers Community Choir meet in Andover on Monday afternoons during term time. The Spotlights are a mixed voice choir and are a welcoming, friendly and fun group who enjoy singing a real mixture of songs from all traditions. We sing unaccompanied in 2-, 3- or 4-part harmony and enjoy sharing what we’ve learnt at twice yearly, free concerts where we collect for local charities.
Monday afternoons 1.30-3pm during term time
We are an open access choir and our main aim is to enjoy singing together in harmony. There are no auditions, and no need to read music.
“The choir has been singing together since 2005 and Ysanne took over in March 2024. With a passion for music that ignites the soul, Ysanne brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the ensemble. Her innovative and fun approach to choral direction promises to inspire and elevate the voices of the choir members, creating harmonies that resonate with the community. Under her guidance, Petersfield Community Choir is poised to reach new heights, uniting voices in song and spreading joy through music. Join us on this exciting musical journey with Ysanne at the helm.”
