Additional information

Kay is a trained singer and musician and brings many years experience of live performance. She has sung in choirs, currently plays and sings in two contemporary folk bands writing many of her own songs, provides music and singing in Dementia day centres and care homes, and leads Drayton Community Choir.

Kay shares the philosophy of the Natural Voice Network in that singing should be accessible to all in a safe and non-judgmental environment where people are encouraged to find their voice. She believes that there is no right or wrong in music and that there is room for everyone to embrace the voice they have and to sing in a way they love.

Kay thrives on giving people the confidence to sing alongside others whether it be for pleasure or to perform. The ethos of Drayton Community Choir is about singing just because we can and because it brings us joy.  She believes in nurture and encouragement and her teaching style is informal, inclusive and sensitive.

Drayton Community Choir
Description

This choir is for anyone who enjoys singing with others. Expect fun, a variety of songs and singing styles, learning to sing harmony and gaining confidence to improvise – all in a safe and non-judgmental setting where there are no auditions.

This is not a performance driven choir although some come our way. There is no pressure to join in with any performances, and everyone is welcome to the sessions whether they wish to perform or not.

Beginners and more experienced singers all welcome.
