With a BA (Hons) Popular Music and Recording degree from Salford University, Ailsa is a choral director and teaches one-to-one vocal tuition privately and in education. She specialises in helping vocalists extend their vocal abilities and maintain vocal health, using evidence-based approaches to helping singers develop all aspects of voice use in a safe, efficient and healthy manner.
Ailsa also works with a variety of groups and organisations, including community singing groups, Music Services and schools, and she is the Musical Director of Vocal Highs community choir in Todmorden. Ailsa believes everyone can sing and she aims to inspire everyone she works with.
As part of ongoing training, Ailsa attends regular training with top vocal coaches and choral directors from around the world. Ailsa holds Kodaly Music Educator’s qualifications and she has been using Kodaly pedagogy in all her work.
