Eleanor Holliday

I have been running community choirs for 20 years, starting with a teenaged group, Stroud Youth Choir and a group at a sixth form college and moving on towards adults and university students.

These days I run four community choirs: Acapellies Choir and Lansdown Lunch Choir in Stroud town, ParkSong in Chalford and George Choir in Newnham-on-Severn (Forest of Dean). Sadly Springhill Singers which I ran for 15 years didn’t survive the lockdowns. I also sing weekly with disabled adults and their carers in a local Camphill care home.

I teach a varied programme of seasonal and polyphonic songs from all over the world  (Balkan, Georgian, Shape-note, South African, Corsican) and compose my own choral pieces.

My songs are available to buy directly from me.

In 2021 Acapellies performed The Gratitude Project to 300 people.

I am usually open to new members – contact me. We regularly perform at charity events and also at Bristol Unaccompanied Adults and Stroud Big Sing.

I teach at Unicorn Voice Camp.

Ialso run pop-up singing sessions with young Europeans on cultural trainings in the Asha Centre Forest of Dean and workshops for the Wye Valley River Festival. My methods are rigour, humour and enthusiasm!
