Eleanor Holliday

I have been running community choirs for 21 years, starting with a teenaged group – Stroud Youth Choir and a group at a sixth form college and moving on towards adults and university students.

These days I run three community choirs: Acapellies Choir and Springhill Singers in Stroud town, ParkSong in Chalford and, until this year, George Choir in Newnham-on-Severn (Forest of Dean). I also sing weekly with disabled adults and their carers in a local Camphill care home.

I teach a varied programme of seasonal and polyphonic songs from all over the world  ( mostly Balkan, Georgian, Shape-note, Corsican) and compose my own choral pieces.

My songs are available to buy directly from me.

In 2021 Acapellies performed The Gratitude Project to 300 people. They are now performing Songs of Fortitude in 2022.

I am usually open to new members – contact me. We regularly perform at charity events and also at Bristol Unaccompanied Adults and Stroud Big Sing.

I also teach at Unicorn Voice Camp.

For many years I ran pop-up singing sessions with young Europeans on cultural trainings in the Asha Centre Forest of Dean and workshops for the Wye Valley River Festival. My methods are rigour, passion, humour and enthusiasm!
