Jodi Watson

I love singing with the everyman / woman. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of singing to uplift a mood, focus the mind and give the upper body a physical workout.

I trained as a choral & music facilitator in Cumbria with Tongue Tide & Twisted, a community arts company based in Barrow-in-Furness. I now run my own community arts company, Wantsumarts in Kent. Alongside my independent work I also administer and facilitate music sessions for Music4wellbeing alongside Trish Vella-Burrows and her Sydney de-Haan research calling for ‘arts on prescription’ as well as co-facilitate vocal & language learning sessions with Beyond the Page

Anchored back in my beautiful home town of Broadstairs in Kent overlooking the sea on the SE cliff edge, I facilitate a community choir, a few singing groups for people with dementia and their carers, and co-facilitate three vocal confidence groups – two for migrant mothers & 1 for trafficked women & victims of modern slavery. All of my work is based on Natural Voice principles. Here and there I squeeze singing sessions in with AgeUk’s Intergenerational Project, care homes and nuns from the local Abbey, amongst other opportunities.
