Kate Thomas

Kate has worked as a choir and workshop leader in Sheffield since 2001. As well as leading weekly groups, Body of Sound, Purple Cats and the WEA class “Confidence through Singing”, she works with a local mental health project, SAGE Greenfingers, leading a group for women aimed at supporting mental health and well-being. She has also run sessions for Sheffield Hallam students as part of their OT course, Sheffield Carers, a local women’s refuge, parents in a local school, an ME group and the Stroke Association. In 2018 she produced her first book of original songs for choirs and a cappella groups – “Honey and Salt” – and has just brought out her second – “Scattered Seeds” (see below for details). She works from a position that “if you can talk, you can sing”.
