I am a community musician aiming to help you learn to listen and build a beautiful sound together with others to experience joy and community.
I was classically trained as a child in both voice and piano, but as and adult learned Traditional Irish Fiddle and song. I am committed to facilitating people to access their own voice and rhythm to share for FUN with others.
I run two Sing Together groups in Carrick on Shannon and Manorhamilton, Co.Leitrim in the Republic and one over the border in Irvinestown, Co. Fermanagh. We gather to sing for fun, experiment with our voices and have a good long tea and chat break in the middle. We perform at Christmas and in the Summer but always with the emphasis on FUN and audience participation.
I also run the Blue Grass Choir that performs at the Blue Grass Festival in the Ulster American Folk park in Omagh annually. This year it takes place at the end of May.
I also run music classes in schools based on the Kodaly approach for National School age children with Ireland’s National Music programme, Music Generation.
Finally I work in two local hospitals singing with patients with dementia and other age-related illnesses.
