I spent 10 years singing with and helping to organise and conduct 2 community choirs and a 7-person singing group. I started leading in 2013 with a group called ‘Can Sing, Can’t Sing, Wanna Sing’ which has thrived, and from January 2017 this was handed over to network member Carl Hodson.
In Sept 2014 the Burbage Community Choir was born and now has 50+ members. Its first full length concert was in December 2016 and there have been numerous other singing engagements with other choirs and various events.
A new venture with the Shuttleworth-Clarke Foundation to build a community choir based at Ulverscroft Manor Activity Centre, Leicestershire started with a taster session in November 2016. The group launched in January 2017 and meets weekly in term time.
All my groups have now been handed over to Carl Hodson – NVN member. I am now retired from full time group leading but am available to help out on an ‘ad hoc’ basis.
