I am passionate about everyone being able to sing from the heart in an embodied way. Many years ago I trained in western classical music which has given me a great understanding of music and harmony, however my heart has always been more in a capella singing, in folk music and world music and for the last 28 years, Indian raga singing and songs of Bengali poet, Rabindranath Tagore!
I currently live in the west of Scotland, to the south west of Glasgow, where I currently run my events online via Zoom. I hope (once live events can happen again!) to run evenings of Chanting, Wild Singing weekends, and workshops based on Indian Raga. I incorporate First Nature body and breath work in all my workshops and am very inspired and interested in linking singing, sounding and hearing to the natural environment, in particular the 5 elements of earth, water, air, fire and space. My workshops enable people to feel profoundly nourished and safe to go deep within to sing from their hears and increase their sense of ease, fluidity, range and resonance.
My partner for over 20 years is Rajeswar Bhattacharya, a renowned Bengali singer who visits the UK and Europe every year where we run raga based workshops together. We currently teach in Scotland, England, Ireland, France and India and love to be invited to run workshops in different places.
