Zoe Katsilerou is a freelance singer, dancer, theatre practitioner pianist who works as a performer, improviser and educator with ensembles and institutions across Europe. She is an associate artist with DUENDE, Sura Medura, SBC Theatre company and a core member of NoVan Theatre group. Zoe has just completed an MLitt in Theatre Practices at the University of Glasgow, within which she undertook practice based research exploring the relationship between voice and physicality in performance. Her practice includes vocal training, physical improvisation as well as the layering of these. She is a classically trained pianist (Grade 8) as well as a singer with a focus on traditional Greek music.
Zoe completed a BA in Applied Music Education at the University of Macedonia in 2013, and is currently researching traditional lullabies from around the world.
Over the last six years, she has been teaching and running workshops on devising, physical and vocal improvisation, singing and on finding and freeing your natural voice, at theatres and institutions including the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, University of Glasgow, Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA), Stagecoach, Oldham University, NoVan Theatre group and the Sofouli Theatre in Thessalonika, Greece.
