Significant Others is a songbook for community choirs with five original songs written in a variety of styles from rock & roll to folk to quiet and contemplative. Each one illustrates the life of a particular person who was lesbian or gay, all of whom have changed the world we live in and left a powerful cultural legacy.
The songs feature Rosetta Tharpe “The Godmother of Rock and Roll”, Harvey Milk, Beryl Ritchie, Alan Turing and Edward Carpenter. The book also contains photographs and background information on their lives.
All the songs are arranged SATB and audio files are included.
