Heather wrote ‘Sing for the Summer’ as a warm-up song for the community choir she was running in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. Everyone starts on the same note – always useful! People can call out what they would like to sing for, and then we include that in the song, sometimes with hilarious results (flowers, children, sausages…). It works simply singing the principle line and with a group of adults with learning disabilities this proved very successful, especially when combined with an enthusiastic shout at the end of the ooo, aah, ooo bit.
